Mark Quinn Iris Artwork
May 8, 2012 § 1 Comment
Mark Quinn is one of the artists associated with the YBA’s since his sculpture ‘Self’, a cast of his head in his own blood, was exhibited as part of the Sensation exhibition of 1997. His works explore the body and identity, and as with his peer Damien Hirst, has the budget to have amazing art made for him.
Despite all his jaw dropping scupltures, I decided to feature of his series of work around the Iris of the eye. A simple idea, and well executed (presumably not by Quinn’s hand), nevertheless, these large oil paintings reflect how beautiful the human iris is.
